Automotive Climate Control

(Occupational Skills Award)

Explore and familiarize yourself with the theories and systems of Automotive AC and heating system malfunctions, manual and electronic climate controls and safety. EPA guidelines.  A classroom set of textbooks is provided.  Students must wear PPE.

Diesel Engine Testing and Repair

(Occupational Skills award)

This high demand career training provides instruction in engine measuring tools, and the principles of operation for major engine components. Students are briefed on the materials needed to take the ASE test of Diesel Engines.  Included in the course is the ASE- Entry level Medium/Heavy Truck Diesel Engines exam

  • DEMR 1010- Diesel Engine Testing and Repair 1
  • DEMR 2012- Diesel Engine Testing and Repair 2

Automotive Diesel Technican

(Level 1 Certificate)

Students who complete both the Automotive Climate Control and Diesel Engine Testing and Repair courses are eligible for this State Recognized Level 1 Certificate

  • DEMR 2012- Diesel Engine Testing and Repair 2
  • AUMT 1041-Auto Climate Control Systems Theory
  • AUMT 1045- Automotive Climate Control Systems

 Light Duty Service Technian

(Level 1 Certificate)

Students who wish to work on standard engines (Not diesel) may opt for these courses

  • AUMT1012- Basic Automotive Service
  • AUMT 1041-Auto Climate Control Systems Theory
  • AUMT 1007-Automotive Electrical Systems
  • AUMT 1045- Automotive Climate Control Systems

 Automotive Service Tech

(Summer only-Certificate of completion)

Designed as a summer fast track for those who wish to learn the basics of automotive care and continue to the Light Duty Service Technician Certificate

  • AUMT 2021- Automotive Electrical Diagnois  & Repair
  • AUMT 1010- Automotive Brake Systems

Registrations must be completed 1 week prior to classes starting. Students can register online, by email or in- person on the first floor of Moody Hall, M-142.
