Galveston College Moves to Remote Operations and Classes for Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 15-16

Due to the winter weather that is predicted for the Texas Gulf Coast region early next week, Galveston College will move to remote operations for Monday, Feb. 15, and Tuesday, Feb.16.

• All on-campus face-to-face classes will be moved online.
• All off-campus face-to-face instruction, such as clinicals, should not meet on Monday and Tuesday.
• All employees will work remotely on Monday and Tuesday, with the exception of essential personnel who will be notified by their supervisors.

Essential services, including Food Services, Facilities and Student Housing, will be available.

All on-campus events are canceled for Sunday through Tuesday, Feb. 14-16. Online events, such as the lecture series event, will occur.

The college will be open regular hours on Saturday, Feb. 13.

Beginning on Sunday morning, please do not come to campus unless instructed to do so by your supervisor. Conditions are expected to begin to worsen Sunday evening, so you are encouraged to stay off all roadways.

A strong arctic cold front is expected to move through the area beginning Sunday evening. Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing for several days, with a chance of winter precipitation including a mix of rain, ice and snow.

A decision about Wednesday will be made by Tuesday at 4 p.m.
