What is TRIO?
Statistics
Who do we serve?

TRIO programs are funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and are administered by the U.S. Department of Education.

These programs are designed to serve primarily individuals from low-income families where neither parent has earned a four-year college degree.

Students in the Upward Bound program are 4x more likely to earn an undergraduate degree than those students with similar backgrounds who do not participate in Upward Bound activities.

Galveston College Upward Bound is designed to serve 60 9th–12th grade students at Ball High School. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rates at which participants enroll in and graduate from institutions of post secondary education by increasing the academic performance and motivation of participants.
