Fall 2019 FAFSA Fest

The Galveston College Financial Aid office will host its Fall 2019 FAFSA Fest in conjunction with the Galveston College Fall Festival on Thursday, Oct 24, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Abe and Annie Seibel Foundation Wing. FAFSA Fest is designed to help current and prospective students and their families navigate the sometimes challenging financial aid process.

Student Success Seminar: Financial Aid 101

The Student Activities office at Galveston College will present “Financial Aid 101” on Thursday, April 18, from 4-5 p.m. in the Regents Hall 251, 4015 Avenue Q, Galveston, Texas.

Presenter will be Tyese Dunn, Galveston College financial aid coordinator.

“Participants of this workshop will learn the basics about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the financial aid awarding process and timeline, and the effect of scholarships and other outside assistance on financial aid funding,” said Cynthia Parra, coordinator of Student Activities at Galveston College.

‘Financial Aid 101’ Success Seminar set for April 18

The Student Activities office at Galveston College will present a “Financial Aid 101” Success Seminar on Thursday, April 18, from 4-5 p.m. in Room 251 of Regents Hall at Galveston College, 4015 Avenue Q, Galveston, Texas.

FAFSA Fiesta

The Office of Financial Aid will host a FAFSA Fiesta Wednesday, March 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Abe and Annie Seibel Foundation Wing West on the Galveston College campus.

The FAFSA Fiesta is designed to help students and their families navigate the sometimes-challenging financial aid process.

Current and prospective students can get help completing the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in addition to having other questions answered. Students who complete their FAFSAs that day will be entered into a drawing for prizes.

The FAFSA application period for the 2019-20 academic year opened on Oct. 1. Students should bring their families’ 2017 income and tax information. Students under the age of 18 should bring a parent or guardian.

FAFSA Fest is open to the public. Students planning to attend Galveston College, as well as other colleges and universities, are welcome to attend.

Cupcake Mardi Gras with Financial Aid

The Galveston College Office of Financial Aid invites all students to Cupcake Mardi Gras on Tuesday, March 5, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Moody Hall lobby.

The Financial Aid staff will have information about the 2019-2020 FAFSA and other financial aid opportunities.

 

 

First-ever FAFSA Fest draws crowd

 

The Galveston College Financial Aid office hosted its first-ever FAFSA Fest in conjunction with the 2018 Fall Festival on Oct. 24 in the Abe and Annie Seibel Foundation Wing.

More than 50 students and their family members attended the successful event.

FAFSA Fest is designed to help students and their families navigate the sometimes challenging financial aid process.
