Oceans of Opportunities virtual job fair is July 9

Congressman Randy Weber, Workforce Solutions and the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the 14th Annual Oceans of Opportunities Virtual Job Fair on Thursday, July 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for prospective employees interested in working in the Galveston area.

Pleasure Pier Job Fair

For decades, the historic Pleasure Pier served as a tourism catalyst for Galveston’s Seawall Boulevard and the Texas Gulf Coast. More than 40 years after the original Pleasure Pier was destroyed by Hurricane Carla, Landry’s has transformed the Pleasure Pier into a world-class amusement park for all ages.

Pleasure Pier will host a job fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, in the Moody Hall Lobby on the Galveston College campus. Learn about exciting career opportunities including:

  • Ride Operators
  • Game Attendants
  • Food and Beverage Staff
  • Security Personnel
  • Retail Associates
  • Grounds Crew
  • Mechanics
  • Facilities Personnel
  • Admissions Cashiers

Galveston College participates in Oceans of Opportunity job fair

Galveston College participated in the 13th annual Oceans of Opportunity job fair hosted by Workforce Solutions and U.S. Congressman Randy Weber July 9 at the Galveston Island Convention Center at The San Luis Resort.

Attendees met with representatives from the petrochemical, light industrial, information technology, law enforcement, healthcare and hospitality industries, as well as companies offering administrative, service and other career opportunities in the greater Houston-Galveston area and beyond. Educational institutions and school districts were also well-represented at the event.

13th Annual Oceans of Opportunity Job Fair

Workforce Solutions, in conjunction with Congressman Randy Weber, will present the 13th Annual Oceans of Opportunity Job Fair on Monday, July 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Galveston Island Convention Center, 5600 Seawall Blvd., Galveston, Texas.

The job fair is free and open to the public.
