Flu shots and  other immunizations will be available for students, faculty, staff and the community on Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Abe and Annie Seibel Wing conference room.

Insurance cards will be accepted. Prices as low as $30 for uninsured participants.

HVAC/R students receive Malco Tools recognition

HVAC/R students receive Malco Tools recognition

Third semester Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration students Kenneth Caddell and Mahdi Pourhanifeh Doust, were honored recently by Malco Tools as part of the Head of the Class Student Recognition Program.

The Malco Tools Head of the Class program highlights students graduating in HVAC/R programs in technical education. In addition to a certificate, each winner also received a Malco tool kit and cap.

“Mahdi and Kenneth have both shown great promise and have worked hard in their HVAC classes. The tools they received from Malco will help them as they start their careers,” said Ronald Foster, HVAC/R program director.

Cosmetology department offers summer services

Are you ready to freshen up your summer look?

The Galveston College Cosmetology department will open on Tuesdays for services from June 26 to July 24. Hours are 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

All services are offered at the Galveston College Applied Technology Center, 7626 Broadway, Galveston.

The pricing schedule is as follows:

  • shampoo, haircut and blow out – $15
  • hair color – $15
  • spa manicure – $8
  • facial – $12
  • men’s cut – $8
  • lash tint – $8
  • gel polish – $12

Free Yoga Class for Students with Texas Yoga Flow

The Student Activities office at Galveston College will offer free summer yoga classes for students from 1-2 p.m. in the Hermes Fitness Center Aerobics Room on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, June 12
  • Tuesday, June 26
  • Tuesday, July 17
  • Tuesday, July 31
  • Tuesday, Aug. 7

Instructor will be Jim Turner of Texas Yoga Flow.
