Student Activities announces campus volunteer opportunities

The Galveston College Student Activities office has announced volunteer opportunities for the fall 2019 semester. Individual students, faculty and staff, as well as clubs and organizations, are invited to participate. A variety of on-campus and community events are included on the schedule.

Wednesday, Sept. 18 Food for Thought Mobile Farmers Market  

Galveston College Main Campus

Volunteered needed:

  • 9:30-10:45 a.m. – Set up
  • 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. – Check in or Check out
  • 12:30-2 p.m. – Check in or Check out
  • 10:30-11:30 a.m. – Unload food from truck
  • 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. – Unload food from truck
  • 12:30-1:30 p.m. – Unload food from truck
  • 1:30-2:30 p.m. (until finished) – Clean up

Friday, Oct. 4 Walk a Mile in Their Shoes (Walk to End Domestic Violence)

Pleasure Pier, Galveston, Texas

Volunteers needed:

  • 6-7 p.m. – Walk

Walkers will receive a free wristband to the Pleasure Pier.

Saturday, Oct. 5 2019 EdFest for All (Education for All Festival)

McGuire-Dent Recreation Center, 2222  28th St. Galveston, Texas

Volunteers needed:

  • 9-10 a.m. – Set up
  • 10 a.m.-12 p.m. – Assigned duties
  • 12-2 p.m. – Assigned duties
  • 2-3 p.m. – Cleanup
