Galveston College announced the launch of its new enrollment campaign, Build Your Tomorrow, and campaign logo during the October regular meeting of the Galveston Community College District Board of Regents.


The Build Your Tomorrow campaign seeks to empower current and future Galveston College students to build their own future and build a better tomorrow for themselves and their families by taking action to pursue a higher education, which will help students enter the job market or transfer to a four-year university.


The Galveston College Build Your Tomorrow campaign logo includes a golden semicircle over the official college logo which infers a rising sun, signaling a new day or new beginning. This element gives the logo a feeling of looking forward to tomorrow. Anchoring this element of the logo is the “Build Your Tomorrow” tagline. The fonts used in the tagline are cohesive to the Galveston College brand, and feature the word “Your” in a font which gives it a handwritten look, invoking a personal, human feel.


“This was a very inclusive process that involved faculty, staff, departments and committees across campus to create the Build Your Tomorrow campaign,” said Galveston College President Myles Shelton, Ed.D. “The new campaign aligns with the mission, vision and direction of the college, including the new strategic plan and recently launched capital campaign.”


The Build Your Tomorrow campaign is almost a year in the making. It began with the college’s Communication, Marketing and Advertising Committee, discussions with faculty, staff and students across campus which evolved into campaign proposals and eventually, the final campaign.



Galveston College was founded in 1967 and is a comprehensive community college providing the residents of Galveston Island and the surrounding region with academic, workforce development, continuing education and community service programs.
