Galveston College has enjoyed numerous partnerships with individuals, businesses, industries and organizations that have helped support and employ our students. The President’s Partners Fund was established to allow the College’s CEO to interact with groups on the local, state, and national level to further the mission of Galveston College. President’s Partners Fund contributors of $100 or more will be extended an invitation twice annually to join the President in a culinary and conversational experience.

The Galveston College Foundation holds scholarship funds for the College and provides for student awards on an annual basis. Scholarships can be created as pass-through scholarships (where funds are put to immediate use), as named scholarships, or endowed scholarships. Funding scholarships is a long-term commitment with positive implications for Galveston College and students.

The “front door” Beacon Square development, dedicated as part of the College’s 40th Anniversary, features the restored South Jetty Lighthouse cupola at 39th Street and Avenue Q in Galveston.

For those wishing to establish a more lasting relationship with Galveston College, they may include the College in their estate planning. This type of gift helps ensure the College’s long-term financial strength and its ability to effectively carry out its mission.

Examples include:

  • Include a gift in your will or living trust of a specific dollar amount or tangible property to the College
  • Direct in a will that the College receive all or part of any remaining assets after any payment of any bequests or estate-related expenses
  • Establish a trust that pays  a lifetime income to a spouse or other beneficiaries, after which the trust assets, or a portion of them are given to the College
  • Designate the College as the beneficiary of your IRA, 401(K) or (B), other retirement plan or insurance

A donor may be able to make a larger gift than is usually possible during one’s lifetime by designating assets currently held on reserve to a worthy cause. Heirs may also qualify for federal and/or state estate tax deduction, reducing the taxable portion of an estate.  Donors are extended special recognition and the opportunity to be part of private receptions honoring those who partner with President and the Board of Regents for the College’s evolution as a premier institution of higher learning for people of Galveston.
