FBI Computer Scientist James Morrison spoke to Galveston College Upward Bound students and their parents Sept. 14 about internet safety.
A popular speaker at the college, Morrison serves as a local technical expert to the special agents and task force officers assigned to the Houston Area Cyber Crimes Task Force. He assists in computer intrusion investigations and reverse engineers software to determine the source and purpose of the malignant code. He has worked in the IT field for more than 30 years, including 20 years with the FBI.
Upward Bound is designed to serve 60 9th- to 12th-grade students at Ball High School. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rates at which participants enroll in and graduate from institutions of post secondary education by increasing the academic performance and motivation of participants.
