The Galveston College Community Chorale will present its annual holiday concert at
7 p.m. on Dec. 11 at Moody Methodist Church, located at 2803 53rd St. in Galveston.
The concert is free and open to the public.
This year's musical theme is "Wondrous Star" and will feature special arrangements
to many familiar carols. “The First Noel,” “Rise Up Shepherd,” “Silent Night” and
“Jingle Bells” are a few of the carols that will be performed.
The Galveston Ballet will be the chorale's special guest artists, and they will perform
Irving Berlin's “White Christmas,” while Ron Wyatt, accompanist for the chorale, will
perform an organ piece entitled “Variations on a Polish Noel.”
As part of this year's concert, the GC Community Chorale is inviting those who attend
the holiday concert to bring non-perishable food items that will be collected and
given to Galveston's St. Vincent's House to be distributed to those families that
are in need.
