Galveston College proudly celebrated the graduation of its inaugural Tidal Waves Leadership
program cohort on April 10.
The 14 participants, representing both faculty and staff, began the program in September
and completed comprehensive, eight-month long leadership development experience designed
to strengthen professional skills and support institutional leadership capacity.
“I'm proud of our first Tidal Waves Leadership program cohort and their dedication
throughout this eight-month experience,” said Galveston College Vice President for
Instruction, Cissy Matthews, Ed.D. “Their capstone presentations reflected thoughtful
collaboration, creativity and a strong commitment to Galveston College. It has been
inspiring to see how much each participant has grown professionally, and I'm looking
forward to seeing them continue to make meaningful contributions to the college and
our students.”
The Tidal Waves Leadership program featured a wide range of professional development
topics, including crucial conversations, public speaking, situational leadership and
networking strategies. Participants applied what they learned through a culminating
capstone project, which they presented to college administration at the conclusion
of the program.
The program was facilitated by Matthews and Lorraine Grubbs, executive coach.
