Galveston College capped off Hispanic Heritage Month with a festive GC Fiesta on Oct. 15. 2025 in the Seibel Wing Auditorium, bringing together students, faculty and staff for an afternoon of food, music and cultural celebration.
 
The event featured lively performances, including a colorful ballet folklórico presentation by the Ball High School Hispanic Dance Team and a special appearance by the GC mascot, Rip Tide. Attendees enjoyed games, activities, giveaways and free limited-edition GC Fiesta T-shirts.
 
Culinary Arts students showcased their talents by preparing pork skewers, empanadas, aguas frescas and polvorones, while members of the Hispanic Student Organization (HSO) hosted a soda-tasting featuring popular beverages from Latin American countries such as Mexico and Peru.
 
The GC Fiesta was presented by GC's Student Activities, the HSO, Student Government Association and the college's Marketing and Communication department.
