Galveston College’s Facilities Director, Tracy Morgan, was honored with the prestigious Facilities Management Distinguished Service Award on April 17, recognized by Texas Association of Physical Plant Administrators (TAPPA) at Moody Gardens for his leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to excellence in educational facility management.
“I’m thankful to TAPPA for this incredible honor, and I’m truly humbled to receive the Distinguished Facility Manager Award for 2025,” said Morgan, who received the award during the TAPPA Annual Conference in Galveston. “There is no better reward in life than contributing to success through education. This recognition isn’t just for me — it belongs to my amazing GC Facilities team. Their hard work, dedication and unwavering commitment to excellence are what make our success possible. Galveston College is unwavering in its commitment to building your tomorrow and creating infrastructure resilience.”
The Facilities Management Distinguished Service Award is one of several honors TAPPA bestows to recognize outstanding contributions in the field.

In addition to the major projects, Morgan and his team maintain all the college’s facilities, including student housing, at the main campus and the Charlie Thomas Family Applied Technology Center (ATC).
TAPPA, established in 1979, represents over 175 educational organizations across Texas, including universities, junior and community colleges, and four-year colleges.
