Galveston College’s Emergency Medical Services program was honored with the UTMB Excellence
in Interprofessional Education Award on April 6, 2026.
The award was presented to GC’s EMS program for its participation with UTMB throughout
the year, including the coordination of two Disaster Day drills with UTMB and other
community partners.
“The partnership with UTMB’s Office of Interprofessional Education and Practice, and
the community partner award recognizing Galveston College EMS, reinforces what we
believe: the best patient care happens when professionals learn from one another,
train together and respond as one team in service to our community,” said Scott Miles,
EMS program director.
