Galveston College Radiation Therapy students earned statewide recognition during the Texas Society of Radiologic Technologists Annual Conference held in Austin in April.
 
Two GC students placed in the organization’s Award of Merit Scientific Essay Competition. Kelsie Carmical earned first place, while Mariah Steward claimed third place in the Merit Scientific Essay category for the college’s Radiation Therapy program.
 
Another pair of GC students, Rachel Santos and Melany Govarrubias, were honored as TxSRT Scholarship winners.
 
In addition, GC Radiation Therapy student Ariel Goerner serves as a TxSRT intern and the organization’s social media coordinator.
