Galveston College’s Fall 2024 semester kicked off with excitement and energy as students moved in just a few days before classes officially began on Aug. 26.

The campus was buzzing with activity as faculty and staff helped new and returning students settle into their apartments and classrooms.

The move-in process was seamless as students and their parents received welcome packets, apartment assignments and GC welcome swag, ensuring they felt at home from day one.

In the weeks leading up to the start of classes, the college hosted orientation sessions to familiarize students with academic resources, support services and the campus layout.

As fall classes commenced on Aug. 26, students were greeted with donuts, coffee, and other breakfast snacks to help jump-start their day. Campus maps were handed out by staff, who were ready to assist with finding classrooms and answering questions.

As part of the Welcome Week activities, students received giveaways, which included branded merchandise like T-shirts, caps, frisbees, lanyards, key chains and many other GC swag items. A photo booth was set up for move-in day and Welcome Week, allowing students to capture memories of their first week back with friends, family and classmates.
