GC STEM Pathway

Chemistry

Welcome to Galveston College’s Department of Chemistry. We offer majors and non-majors courses taught by faculty that possess extensive experience in both research and education. The faculty strives to make chemical concepts understandable and applicable to everyday ordinary experiences.

A distinct advantage of our program is a low student to teacher ratio that allows for personalized learning and advising on opportunities and choices in the sciences as a career and for jobs.

We prepare students to transfer to senior university programs as well as technical programs in area institutions because of matriculation agreements that make such transfers smooth and quick.

After graduation, many of our students continue their education in any number of four year degree programs, such as chemistry, medicine, dentistry, veterinary, pharmacy or other professional fields. Chemistry at Galveston College is an exciting, engaging experience.
