Our facilities and custodial staff, along with our IT and security staff, have been on campus today preparing the College to reopen to students, faculty and staff tomorrow, Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

All classes, student activities and campus operations will resume as scheduled on Wednesday, July 10.

Since cleanup and recovery efforts continue around Galveston Island and surrounding areas, please take care and watch out for downed power lines and other debris that were blown about by the storm.

Stay safe and we look forward to seeing each of you tomorrow.

We hope you and your families weathered Hurricane Beryl in good fashion, and are safe and doing well.

In preparation for the reopening of the College, there is some cleanup that needs to be done around campus before we will be ready to welcome students back to campus. Consequently, all classes and student activities for tomorrow, Tuesday, July 9, 2024, are canceled.

Facilities, custodial, security and IT personnel will be on campus tomorrow, July 9, working to prepare for the return of all students, faculty and staff.

GC will reopen on Wednesday, July 10, for regular business hours and the first day of Summer II classes.

Please take care and watch out for downed power lines and other debris that were blown about by the storm.

Campus Community:

Due to the inclement weather that is anticipated to reach the Texas coast in the upcoming hours due to Tropical Storm Beryl and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our students, faculty and staff, Galveston College will be closed on Monday, July 8, 2024.

All classes, activities and operations for Monday, July 8 are canceled.

We anticipate GC will re-open on Tuesday, July 9, for regular business hours and the first day of Summer II classes.

During this time, the GC Emergency Management Team will continue to monitor the path and development of Beryl.

January 16, 2024

Due to inclement weather, Galveston College is closed on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024. Galveston College will resume normal operations on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, with all classes meeting as scheduled. The reopening includes both the GC main campus, located at 4015 Avenue Q, and the GC Applied Technology Center, located at 7626 Broadway Street, in Galveston.
