Galveston College held a special ceremony in the Seibel Wing at the college’s main campus to induct its 2025-2026 Student Government Association (SGA) officers.

Outgoing SGA President, Alicia Fletcher, along with GC Associate Vice President of Student Services, Ron Crumedy, formally inducted the new student leaders. The event marked a moment of celebration and transition, recognizing the dedication and contributions of the outgoing officers while welcoming a new team ready to serve the student body.

The 2024-2025 SGA officers, President Alicia Fletcher, Vice President, Faith Nyanganyi, Secretary, Lydia Ybarra, and Treasurer Sweetly Musick, were honored for their leadership and service throughout the past academic year.

The newly inducted SGA officers for the 2025-2026 academic year are:

  • Marianna Hernandez, President
  • Chaniya Brown, Vice President
  • Lydia Ybarra, Secretary
  • Alyssa Berry, Treasurer

Ybarra will continue in her role as secretary, bringing continuity and experience to the new student administration.

The college’s SGA plays a vital role in representing the student body, planning campus events, and promoting leadership and civic responsibility.
