The Galveston College Theatre Department will present “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live
Radio Play” by Joe Landry, a beloved holiday classic brought to life by GC students
as an immersive 1940s radio broadcast Dec. 9-11 at the college’s Black Box Theatre,
located on the second floor of the Fine Arts Building in Room FA-207 at the main campus
in Galveston at 4015 Ave. Q.
Admission is free and performances are open to the public.
Audiences will experience the story of the idealistic George Bailey through a captivating
stage production featuring a versatile ensemble portraying dozens of characters, as
George contemplates ending his life on a fateful Christmas Eve.
Under the direction of GC Program Coordinator for the Performing Arts, Liz Lacy, show
dates and times for “It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” will be Dec. 9 at 10
a.m. and 2 p.m., Dec. 10 at 7 p.m., and Dec. 11 at 2 p.m.
Company members include Madeline Adams, Elijah Barrie, Lucy Bell, Aaron Gudz, Alyssa
Gudz, Chad Keith, Jade Harmon and Ava Moore. “It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio
Play” is presented by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc. (www.playscripts.com).
The Galveston College Theatre Department offers a professional immersive training
experience for all students within the disciplines of acting, playwrighting, directing,
design and technology. Four productions a year and a diverse range of theatre courses
provides every opportunity for students to develop their theatrical skills. Scholarships
