The Galveston College baseball and softball seasons are upon us and the Whitecaps took some time between class and practice to put on their game day best and have some fun during their annual photo shoot.
“Both teams enjoyed the photo shoot and had fun taking pictures and shooting video for social media,” said Galveston College Athletic Director and Head Softball Coach, Kelly Raines. “We’re looking forward to the start of both the baseball and softball seasons. As soon as we wrap up the photo shoot, we will get back to work and continue practicing for the start of the season.”
While the softball team wrapped up their shoot on Wednesday, the baseball team finished up with a smaller group on Thursday.
“It’s all part of the show,” said Whitecaps baseball head coach, Kevin Lallmann. “We’ve got a great group of players and we can’t wait to get the season started.”
The Whitecaps baseball team will open the season on the road on Jan. 27 against Baton Rouge Community College and the softball team will begin the season by hosting the Island Invitational Jan. 27-29. The Whitecaps softball team will open the tournament against Lakeland College at 10 a.m. and Navarro College at 5:30 p.m.
